Experts figured out with whom and where Russians will travel in 2023

OneTwoTrip: one in ten Russian tourists will travel with friends in 2023

Every tenth Russian tourist will travel in 2023 with friends, and almost as many – alone, according to a study of travel planning service OneTwoTrip, which is available to RIA Novosti.

The service asked its customers what travel plans they made for 2023. “Almost a third, or 32.3 percent, want to go on vacation with family. A quarter (25.7 percent) plan to take several trips with different companies, a fifth (19.6 percent) chose to vacation with a partner, 12.4 percent would rather enjoy traveling alone, and one in ten would go on vacation with friends,” the company said.

According to the study, almost half of those surveyed, or 47.7 percent, said that this year they plan to vacation in Russia and abroad. 29.6 percent are only considering trips around the country, while 22.7 percent want to vacation exclusively abroad.

The most desired destinations in Russia are Sochi, St. Petersburg and Altai. Of foreign countries, the leaders are Turkey, Thailand and the UAE.
Speaking about the time of year for travel, the service noted that more than half of the respondents (56.1 percent) are ready to go in different seasons. “Almost every fifth (18.2 percent) considers only summer for vacation, 10.2 percent prefer spring and 9.4 percent prefer winter. Autumn was the most unpopular. Only 4.1% of respondents plan a vacation in this season,” the analysts said.

Summing up the results of 2022, 91.9 percent said they went somewhere during this period. More than half of respondents (54%) vacationed in Russia. Nearly a third had time to travel around the country and go abroad, while 17.3% were only abroad.

While most tourists spent no more than 50,000 rubles on a trip to Russia, they spent between one and five thousand euros abroad.
